Programs & Services: A Focus on Dignity and Self-Sufficiency
The Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center serves families and individuals in Boston, Cambridge and the Greater Boston Area. We are partners with homeless families in their journey toward recovery, renewal and self-sufficiency. We provide shelter, caring, homes and hope to disadvantaged families through a combination of housing programs and support services: Housing Programs | Congregate Program | Emergency shelter units with common facilities and on-site services | | Scattered Site Program | Independent apartments with support services and less structured supervision, designed for families ready to transition to permanent housing | | Community Beds | Temporary (90 days) units for moderate income families in need of short- term homelessness support intervention | | Permanent Housing | Affordable housing offering permanent homes to low-income and formerly homeless families | Support Services Programs We offer comprehensive and mandatory support services to our families in transition. We offer the same program services on a volunteer enrollment basis to our graduate families through our Family Stabilization Program. Through all of programs, we place an emphasis on self-sufficiency, "self-esteem recovery" to counter the destructive impact of homelessness, and personal growth and development. - Case management
- Housing search
- Advocacy
- Workforce development (literacy, job search/ placement/ training)
- Children and youth services (provided by an all-volunteer team)
- Life and parenting skills
- Budgeting and financial management
