History: A Commitment to Positive Change

Hildebrand Family Self-Help CenterIn 1984, the Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center was founded in Cambridge Massachusetts, as a social action ministry for the homeless. Rev. LeRoy Attles of St. Paul AME Church established this outreach ministry after he found a homeless individual on the steps of his church. Now, Hildebrand is incorporated non-profit organization, and a Cambridge institution that has greatly benefited from community action, donations which range from money to property, and volunteer help.
We remain committed to meeting the needs of low-income individuals and homeless families and their children.
Over the past 20 years, our organization has developed and managed housing options and supportive programs that have served hundreds of families and individuals over the years.
Our goal and pledge to the families and communities that we serve is to continue to work with them to meet the challenges of homelessness, and to expand our facilities and programs to meet their growing needs... from survivors to thrivers.
